Kara Walker

 Kara Walker is an American artist who mainly does large silhouettes using black paper. Her work focuses on race and the history of American slavery. Her most recent piece The Sugar Sphinx is a seventy five and half foot long sculpture of a Sphinx made out of bleached sugar. It was inspired by the domino Sugar Factory which was going to be torn down and the history of the workers.
