Ernst Ludwig Kirchner

 Ernst Ludwig Kirchner was a German expressionist painter. He was a founder of the artist group Die Brücke which led to the foundation of expressionism in 20th century art. The nazis branded his work as “degenerate” and sold or burned more than 600 of his pieces. He was a part of the German expressionism movement which was a cultural movement not defined by a particular style but were artists in Germany before WWII who’s art reflected the culture.
